What does the SayPDF Order Printer & Invoice app do?
SayPDF automatically generates a branded PDF invoice, packing slip, or receipt for every order on your store, and can email it to your customer with zero manual work. A drag-and-drop template editor lets you design the document without writing any code.
Do I have to send invoices manually?
No. Once auto-email is turned on, SayPDF generates and emails the PDF automatically when an order comes in. You can still send or download any document manually from the Send tab whenever you need to, or bill something that isn't a Shopify order (a phone sale, offline order or service) with the Manual invoice form.
Can I customize the design of my invoices?
Yes. Use the drag-and-drop editor to move fields, add your logo, and set colours and fonts, or start from the built-in gallery of 200+ ready-made designs across different industries. You can also upload your existing invoice PDF (or a screenshot of one) and the app will recreate it as an editable template automatically.
Does SayPDF support multiple languages?
Yes. Templates and the email wording can be translated to any of the app's supported languages on demand, so customers in different countries receive documents in their own language, and totals still calculate correctly regardless of locale.
Is SayPDF compliant with EU e-invoicing rules (ZUGFeRD / XRechnung)?
Yes. SayPDF can generate ZUGFeRD / Factur-X e-invoices (PDF/A-3 with an embedded EN 16931 XML) as well as XRechnung 3.0 and Peppol BIS 3.0 UBL files alongside your regular PDF. This helps merchants prepare for Germany's e-invoicing mandate and similar EU requirements. See the documentation for details.
Does the app connect to my accounting software?
Invoice data can be exported as a generic CSV or a DATEV-format Buchungsstapel for your accountant, and invoices/credit notes can push automatically into Lexware Office or sevDesk. Outbound webhooks are also available so you can connect SayPDF to Zapier, Make, or thousands of other tools.
I'm switching from another invoicing app — will my invoice numbers stay sequential?
Yes. Under Settings → Numbering you can set the next invoice number to continue on from your previous app's sequence, so legally required sequential numbering is never interrupted or duplicated.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes packing slips, manual downloads and branding. Paid plans (starting at Starter) raise the auto-email limit and add the AI template generator, e-invoicing/compliance features and accounting export. Every paid plan includes a 14-day free trial.
What happens to my shop and customer data if I uninstall the app?
SayPDF implements Shopify's mandatory customer data request, customer redact and shop redact webhooks, so your data is handled according to Shopify's standard GDPR framework when the app is uninstalled. See our Privacy Policy for more.
